Whether you're a local or just passing through, Ray’s is the perfect spot to enjoy classic American diner food.

The minute you walk through the door, you’re greeted with a cozy, no-frills environment that makes you feel right at home. It's the kind of place where the staff knows the regulars by name, and the service is always friendly and efficient. With a mix of locals and travelers, Ray’s Tavern provides an authentic small-town experience that makes it stand out from the more commercialized dining spots nearby. It’s a place where you can truly relax, enjoy a great meal, and maybe even strike up a conversation with someone at the next table.

As for the menu, Ray’s Tavern excels in offering a variety of classic diner dishes. Their burgers are a fan favorite, made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. You can’t go wrong with a Ray’s Classic Burger, topped with all the traditional fixings, but if you're feeling adventurous, try one of their specialty burgers that are packed with unique flavors and combinations. The fries, crispy and golden brown, are the perfect side to any meal, and you can even upgrade to their loaded fries for an extra indulgent treat.

For those who aren’t in the mood for a burger, Ray’s Tavern has a solid selection of other American diner staples. The grilled chicken sandwiches are a lighter option, and the salads, though simple, are made with fresh, local ingredients. If you're looking for something more substantial, the diner also serves up hearty plates of comfort food like meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and gravy, all of which are prepared with care and served in generous portions.

One thing that really sets Ray’s apart is the homemade desserts. After a satisfying meal, it’s hard to resist trying one of their pies or a slice of cake. The cherry pie is particularly popular, with a perfectly flaky crust and sweet, tangy filling that keeps people coming back for more. If you’re not in the mood for pie, the milkshakes are another great option, thick and creamy, perfect for sipping after a meal or as a treat on their own.

The restaurant’s location also adds to its charm. Green River is a small town, but it’s located along the route to many popular destinations in Utah, including Arches National Park and Canyonlands. There’s nothing pretentious about Ray’s; it’s just a solid, down-to-earth place that consistently delivers on quality food and a pleasant experience.

  • I'm not lying when I say this is THE best Burger I've had in a long time.. perfectly cooked and the fries are amazing! I will miss this place not only because of the food, but a person working there. The place was buzzing with people and I understand why.

  • Great local tavern. This place was recommended to us by the hotel staff. Old time tavern with excellent food. The wife had a steak and I had a pork chop. Both were tasty and well presented.

  • Service was excellent but teriyaki chicken appeared to be lemon pepper so we asked for some teriyaki sauce and it was soy sauce in a cup. The salad was great and fresh, the fries were also good but would not recommend the chicken.

  • We stopped by initially to grab a couple burgers which were highly rated but upon seeing the posted menu, decided on the teriyaki chicken and the pork chop dinners. They came with salads which were very good. The portions were ample and we took about half of our meals with us.

  • A friend recommended this place and it was so good we ate here again on our way back from Moab. The service was good as we were greeted upon entering and seated quickly. Good bar atmosphere and not loud at all. The cheeseburger, chicken teriyaki, and pork chop were all good. Definitely try the fry sauce if you’ve never had.

  • Delicious hamburgers! The fries were also good. The staff and the service were excellent. All of the staff that we came in contact with were super friendly and nice. The atmosphere was very relaxing and well decorated. Plenty of parking along the side streets. Easy to navigate to and from.

  • Food here is pretty good. Enjoyed a cheeseburger with bacon. Got pretty busy, even for a Monday. Service was a little slow but I think partly as the staff is really busy. Good experience though.
